The Al Huda Scouts program is dedicated to supporting children aged 6 and up in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual potential as responsible individuals, citizens, and members of our community. The opportunity to take on a constructive role in our program will help instill important social, religious, and cultural values in our children. Through providing them with a fun, safe, and nurturing environment, we encourage our children to apply our principles and practices with the aim of becoming active Muslim members in our society.
Our goal is to
- Providing adventurous and artistic programs, with Islamic principles at the core of these activities.
- Establishing strong social networks between our Scouters.
- Strengthening their heritage language by ensuring most conversations are spoken in Arabic.
- Preparing our Scouters to become leaders of the next generation.
Through adventure, craftsmanship, and most importantly, guided fun, our vision will come to life with the help of our Scouters.
Scout team
The Scouts Group Committee oversees the overall program and its vision and is also responsible for the decision making, budgeting and training leaders.
Our Scouts program is composed of various groups, divided according to ages and needs. For our groups, called ‘talaea’ (plural of ‘taliaa’), there will be assigned leaders and volunteers who will be in charge of serving the needs of their ‘taliaa’.
Location
The weekly Scouts program takes place at Al-Huda Islamic Centre. Camping, trips, and other activities occasionally take place outside of the centre.
Program
Our program starts weekly between 7-9 pm every Friday from the beginning of October until the end of May.
